Home Page
Gospel Fit focuses on health and fitness information for the black Christian community.  God wants a healthy diet and good exercise program to be part of our life, not the goal of life.  God has great plans in store for us.  Gospel Fit reminds us to connect with God in all that we do and each of us should align body, mind and spirit.  After all, our bodies are the temples that house our minds and spirits.  (1Corinthians 6:19 Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own.)

God loves us exactly as we are at this moment.  God knows our faults, problems, shortfalls, where we’ve gone astray and done the wrong thing as well as those times we’ve stood still and done nothing.  Yet, God still loves us and nothing can separate us from the love of God. (Romans 8: 35-38)  Don’t think that God wants us to stay right where we are.  Instead, God wants us to recognize his love and wants to empower us to do great things.  First, we must take care of our temples.

Our health and fitness are concerns of God just as any other part of our lives.  Those in the Black church have relied on our communities of faith as we have overcome challenges.  Gospel Fit will connect church communities to tackle health and fitness issues.  God, who is always faithful, will guide us as we transform out lives.

A Story to Inspire:
The Fern and the Bamboo

One day I decided to quit...I quit my job, my relationship, my spirituality...

I wanted to quit my life. I went to the woods to have one last talk with God.

“God”, I said. “Can you give me one good reason not to quit?”

His answer surprised me. “Look around”, He said. “Do you see the fern and the bamboo?”

“Yes”, I replied. “When I planted the fern and the bamboo seeds, I took very good care of them.

I gave them light. I gave them water. The fern quickly grew from the earth.

Its brilliant green covered the floor. Yet nothing came from the bamboo seed.

But I did not quit on the bamboo. In the second year the fern grew more vibrant and plentiful.

And again, nothing came from the bamboo seed. But I did not quit on the bamboo.

In year three there was still nothing from the bamboo seed.
